Reception


The Original plan...


This is our plan for the Reception. Most of our friends and relatives would ask why we choose to have a one day reception for both. For a simple anwer: Jimat sikit. Plus, Enchek Tunang did informed me the other day that My-Mak-In-Law to be wishes to have a Kesyukuran/ Kenduri in Sarawak, where Datuk and Nenek lives. 

My-Mak-In-Law is from Sarawak and most of her siblings resides there. Though Enchek Tunang and his 2nd sister were born and grew up in Batu Pahat, Johor. His late Abah was a Mersing hero from Melaka who worked most of his life in Johor (A-Fatihah to him). 

As for my side, most of Dad's near relative will be invited during my Akad Nikah, so my Mama's relative which are mostly in Kuala Lumpur and Melaka would have problems travelling up to the East Coast especially during CNY celebration. 

Of course, it because of you guys out there.. hehe. Me and Enchek Tunang is, was and has been working in the Klang Valley i.e. Shah Alam and Putrajaya. I myself studied in a local university in Shah Alam for almost... what? 6-8 years? Did my chambering in Petaling Jaya, my first job in Damansara and first posted in the service in Shah Alam. 

So, here's the deal. A reception utk memudahkan tetamu.

We were looking high and low for a Dewan in Shah Alam. Wondered around for available caterers who can cater our needs. Semua blog yang share pasal dewan-dewan yang boleh disewa kat Shah Alam ni i've browsed in. B2B may see these links for siggestions. Just to name a few:

  1. Dewan MBSA Shah Alam be it Auditorium, Bankuet, Dewan Warisanand the usual community halls
  2. Galeri Shah Alam
  3. Dewan SUK Selangor
  4. Hotels (boleh refer website hotel) Concorde, Bluewave, Carlton, Intekma Resort, Hotel UiTM etc.
  5. Private Dewan. This one you never know they existed until you are out of idea where your reception will be. I came across these dewan and was so excited about it. Here are some:
    • N'dah Catering & Wedding Planner. Lengkap Dewan, Pelamin, Catering, Baju etc. All in. Izzue Islam buat kat sini. Kat Mana? You'll never guessed. Depan Pejabat Bos Besar Shah Alam je. Dulu, i saw a Motocar Gallery-then changed to Perabot Mewah then now a Dewan 2 tingkat for weddings. Yup! Yang dekat trafic lite tu.
    • Restoran Nelayan Titiwangsa in Gombak. This restaurant used to be located kat Taman Tasik Titiwangsa KL.. kat Birdpark tu. But now it changes location and i thought owh... mesti jadi restoren biasa je. Sekali i went to their FB page and wow! Amazed! They too cater macam N'dah Catering juga. Cantik gils! Especially their Serambi Nelayan. The Halls are both covered with air condition and open air concept. Menarik kan? 
    • Astana Era Mewah situated at Pinggiran Subang, Paya Jaras, Shah Alam. Siap lengkap pakej menu catering etc. ada promo honeymoon FOC lagi. hehe. Air conditioned. Baru. 
    • Dewan Raja Lumu kat Muzium Shah Alam. Tapi tade catering. You have to look for yourself.
    • Dewan Orked Wisma PKPS. Same building with Bank Islam Shah Alam opposite Bluewave Hotel. This one used to be fully catered by the famous Pak Engku Songkok Tinggi. Now.. i'm not so sure. But they're still open for bookings. 
    • Dewan FRIM, Pinggiran Subang, Shah Alam. It's actually a bungalow like dewan. Akad Nikah boleh buat kat dalam. Makan etc, you'll have to take outside caterers and khemah. Nice for a garden wedding/ outdoor concept. 

So... where are our reception actually? I came accross a FB page and a blog. I think i saw their phamplets masa SACC Wedding Fair last 2 months. But i ignored them. To my suprise, it showed up and i thought... haaa berjodoh ni.  Since our effort and tries all went into the longkang... (calling and trying to book dewan all around shah alam was a failure. 


Time i nak buat reception tu is a Valentines day and the whole month of February is fully booked), frust juga la kan. Thought of postponing the reception to March came across. But My family had booked flight tickets and arranged their schedule because its tengah2 bulan and, there's no cuti sekolah whatsoever. Excited they are! 


OK! The battle continues... I contacted the Wedding Planner via their FB. Called in to ask for a date to book first! Yes! Book the date dulu... benda lain kita diskus nnt ok. So happen, there was another wedding on the day and she paid deposit first. But... she hasn't decide her time. The Hall Garden is available for 2 event in a day. Day event or Night/ Dinner event. I booked anyway. Enchek Tunang paid the booking and we prayed hard the client choose a night event. Not sure if it's good news or not but, we got the Night session. 


Hmm... i thought, "but i don't want a formal dinner wedding". I browsed and browsed and actually finds it interesting that a dinner wedding at the hall terrace is a good idea anyway. I've seen the lightings, the deco, the ambiance... dreamy but real. The hotel has HUGE parking space and it's FREE. We get a complimentary room, deco, pelamin, baju pengantin, catering menu and matron in uniforms, PA system, cakes, candy buffet, photobooth, photo and videos for the event and many more. 


All we have to do is send out invitations, prepare our doorgifts, name our VIPs and their tables, arrange in sync the tentative and dress like King and Queen. Heheh.. (still kedekut lagi ni nak bgtau who our planner is). Have some patience ya... here's some pictures to show you the place and our wedding ideas. Yang penting Chivalry Chairs... heeeee
